Please allow me to introduce myself; I am Tania Kelly-Baker. I had the privilege of living and working at Kiwoko Hospital for over 7 years, alongside my husband Paul and our daughter, Lana.

While there I worked in the various income generating projects that the hospital runs. Firstly; the Guest House and the Elective Programme that facilitates overseas Medical, Nursing, Midwifery and Physiotherapy students to complete an elective at the hospital for 6 to 8 weeks.

Secondly, I was involved with a Craft Project set up to provide paid work and community for ladies living with HIV.

Thirdly, I set up and oversaw a Fashion & Tailoring School for young women from Kiwoko village to learn a skill that allowed them to support themselves and their families.

We moved back to Northern Ireland in 2018, having successfully handed over our responsibilities to the local Ugandan staff, and the elective program to the Park family.

Since then, we have continued to be involved with supporting Kiwoko from afar. Paul currently serves on the Friends of Kiwoko Committee and oversees this website. I continue to be an ambassador for the Craft Project, finding new buyers for their products here in Northern Ireland, and throughout the UK.

I am delighted to get more involved now as Donor Relations Coordinator for Friends of Kiwoko Hospital. I will be answering emails, promoting Kiwoko Hospital’s amazing work on social media as well as visiting and delivering presentations to supporters around Northern Ireland. If you are involved with a group who currently support or are interested in Kiwoko Hospital, please do get in touch. I would be very happy to visit you and tell you all I can about this amazing place.

Tania.
