Friends of Kiwoko Hospital

The Good Samaritan Fund

I was asked if Kiwoko still has a Good Samaritan Fund to pay for the care of those who cannot afford it. It does. FOKH is happy to process any such gift which you can also Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer - the gift aid form for a single gift is downloadable from here, if you have already signed a gift aid form for FOKH you don't need to sign a second one. Cheques should be made payable to 'Friends of Kiwoko Hospital'; let me know it is for the Good Samaritan Fund. Regular giving with or without gift aiding it can also be used for this fund.

Thanks to the 'EB Trust' for their very generous gift to support Kiwoko Hospital in its Christian Ministry and to the 'TT Trust' for their very generous gift towards the staffing and running costs. The staffing costs had reached a crisis so the latter gift came at just the right time, as did the former to support the outreach ministry of the hospital, a core element in care.

Rory was home in N. Ireland in the Autumn, looking well. He didn't arrive on his motorbike this time! His news of Kiwoko was very encouraging. He was very busy rustling up equipment for Kiwoko and we would like to thank Brian Dorman for the immense work he does for Kiwoko in this. Ken and Judith will be over at Christmas and will be at the AGM of FOKH on Thursday 20th December at 7-30 pm in Ballyholme parish Church. All welcome. The team from the Ulster and other Hospitals who were out at Kiwoko recently will be giving a short presentation at this. From speaking with them they found this a moving experience at several levels and were able to be of help even though it was a short visit.

Phil Woodford was out in Kiwoko and has taken some excellent photos which he has allowed us to use, so I will update some of our older photos on the web. Thanks Phil.

Thanks to those who have taken out regular gift aid donations to FOKH for Kiwoko Hospital. This is a core support to the work of the hospital to help cover staffing costs. Single gifts are equally welcome - they make up the bulk of donations.

Who are 'Friends of Kiwoko Hospital'?

Friends of Kiwoko Hospital is YOU, it is all who contribute, help, work, pray or support in any way. 'FOKH' is simply a conduit of your generosity and thoughts towards the hospital and its work in and around Kiwoko. YOU are the true Friends and we join you in this. Ian Taylor

Finance

Friends of Kiwoko Hospital receive 25% of what they give to Kiwoko Hospital from the Goshen trust and I would like to thank all the staff there and Albert Dicken for this really important support.

Current estimates from Kiwoko suggest a further 20% increase in funds is necessary. We can't meet all this from 'Friends of Kiwoko Hospital' but could I encourage all those regular donors to us to consider increasing their standing order amounts by contacting their banks and giving them instructions on this - it is a simple as asking them to increase it from £x to £y. For those who are not regular donors, please consider filling in the gift aid and banker's order form if you live in the UK and pay tax. Small regular amounts are important, so please don't be put off if you can only afford £5 - £10 per month. Download the banker's order and gift aid form by clicking here. If you wish to give a single gift download the single gift gift aid form by clicking here. Fill it in and enclose a cheque payable to 'Friends of Kiwoko Hospital'.

Information Leaflet

The information leaflet. This is restricted in the amount of information, so please excuse if you are not mentioned! It is here for you to print out and use. There are two sides and the downloads are high resolution jpgs between 0.85 and 1.2 MB each.: Kiwoko Leaflet Side 1, Kiwoko Leaflet Side 2. Current feedback on this leaflet is 1. There is too much writing - should only be 50% of the available space. 2. Overemphasises the role of expats. We hope to remedy these defects in the next edition - this is still some time away since the new leaflet was only printed in Spring 2006.
